The Colfax-Mingo School District is a growing system
serving approximately 900 students from the Communities of Colfax, Mingo,
Ira and Valeria. The elementary and high school are located in
Colfax. Grades 6-8 attend the middle school in Mingo.
The individual is the focus in the C-M District, which is a
member of the New Iowa School Development Corporation (NISDC). There
is a complete computer program kindergarten through high school with a
brand new computer lab at the elementary school.
The middle school has developed a portfolio project
focusing on the individual and franchised by the C-M Education Foundation.
At the high school, a mentor program matching the
students with a person in their occupational field allows them to explore
career options. The district has also received a grant from the
Carver foundation which was used to design a new science lab at the high
school emphasizing critical thinking skills through the use of technology.

A member of the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference,
Colfax-Mingo offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities in both
arts and athletics.
